Julien’s to auction off Leon’ Glasses in November!!!

Taken? Liam Nissen?…….No, he wishes. I’m talking about the ever elusive, “no women no kids”, cold stare through reflective circular glasses assassin, named only…Leon. Directed by the incredibly talented, hugely artistic Luc Besson’, who brought you films like La Femme Nikita, The point of No Return, The Fifth Element, and…well I guess, Taken…with Liam Nissen. The film that started Natalie Portman’s career, launched Jean Reno into popularity, and stays fresh in the minds of thousands of cult followers even now. A little background….but I diverge…

This November, Julien’s Auction house will be offering up to one lucky fan, a pair of glasses worn by Jean Reno in the title role of Leon: The Professional. Only one other pair of these glasses have turned up, being sold by The Prop Store earlier this year, this will be the second pair, and most likely the last pair ever to surface. This, being my personal “holy grail” prop to own, that I have been searching for for a very long time, along with hundreds of others, with post’s and topics on prop boards around the web, has brought up a red flag to myself, and thought I would post here for all to see.

These glasses were worn by Jean reno, and features a signature vintage circular frame, made of wire covered in clear acrylic with tinted circular lenses. Like I have said I have been searching for these for a long time since it is my top film of all time. With the starting bid being $400, and the estimate being $800-$1200, I am estimating these glasses will go for upwards of 4-7k, just because of the rarity of this prop, and the direct provenance of coming from the collection of Simon Murray, the spectacle maker for the film.  And even though the price for the first pair sold by The Prop Store has not been disclosed, I know they reached a high number, and now reside in a private collection.

So you must be wondering, if this is his holy grail item, why would he be advertising them and not wanting to keep the auction close to his chest….because, even though I will be bidding on them, I don’t think my bank account will allow these to go in my collection, and I just cant help but bring anything from this movie to the light of day, for all the fans out there.

So be sure to check out the Julien’s auction here, and register to bid for the auction, this November 9th 2012!

A pair of clear plastic glasses with round smoke grey lenses and molded nose pads, worn by Jean Reno in Leon The Professional (Gaumont, 1994). This is one of several pairs of glasses made for the film. The clear plastic earpieces have gold metal wire running throughout and are inscribed “JUNIOR GAULTIER 58-0072.” Accompanied by a copy of the film.

Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back Clapeprboard

I’m a huge fan of clappers, I like to personally collect behind the scenes items and production pieces, and clappers have always intrigued me, and what can get better than a Empire one!

Chronicles of Riddick: Necromonger Rifle

These are absolutely beautiful pieces, the production value that went into the props from this movie is incredible, and I need one of these for my personal collection to go with other items 😉

Firefly: Vera

This is one of my grail items, and I mean, come on, just look at this thing…beautiful!

Predator Chain-mail, Wrist Blades and Cutting Weapon

A very very cool set, the cutting disc has been one of my favorite Predator weapons of all time, and this is a great set, blades and chain-mail, just awesome!

Star Trek Nemesis: Clapperboard

Again, another clapper, I’m a huge Trek fan, and even thought this is considered to be a “bad” Trek movie, it’s still one of my top 5!

Dredd 2012…a review

Dredd made is debut here in the states this past Friday, I finally got a chance to see it this past weekend, and WOW! I am blown away! I have been a long time fan of the character, both from the 95′ version of the film and the 2000AD books, and this film did a incredible job of telling the story of Judge Dredd!

First off, this version is way more closely related to the original comic than the Stallone version, and while I still find the original movie entertaining, even though it has it’s flaws, this updated version blows it out fo the water! With the incredible portrayal of the title character by Karl Urban, and in my opinion the even better portrayal of Judge Anderson by the incredible Olivia Thirlby, this film is the Dredd should be seen by a mass audience. The story, done incredibly well by the verty talented writer Alex Garland, who brought another one of my favorites movies to big screen Sunshine, is really the backbone of the film, it was written in such a manner that I felt entertained form the beginning to the end.

To mark, in my opinion, a great film, I wanted to post all of the online featurettes below, so you can see what went into making this movie spectacular!

First official photo of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine!

After countless paparazzi photos, we finally have something official from The Wolverine, ’cause Marvel has released the first still from the movie featuring Hugh Jackman as the title character.

Jackman has no problem showing a little skin for his fans. Here he is as Logan/Wolverine striking a pose and flexing some serious muscle. The claws are out and he’s ready to fight. The Wolverine will center on the hero’s journey through Japan, where he’ll encounter the villainous Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee).

Last month, Jackman revealed that the film will be its own entity. “We’ve deliberately not called it Wolverine 2 because we want it to be placed and feel like a standalone picture,” he said. “With an all-new cast and setting it in Japan, it’s going to give us a whole new visual aesthetic.”

We’re not sure how we feel about his hair being so short, but to each his own. What do you think of the first photo from The Wolverine?

First Robocop Suit Images Online

Ok, so the first image of the new Robocop suit has surfaced online, and it is basically exactly like the concept artwork we have seen before. Now, i’m not a huge Robocop fan like some out there, but the original design of the suit is a classic in my mind, and i’m not a stranger to updating and re-designing things alittle, esp for a reboot, but WOW, come on now!!! it’s basically a black version of Iron Man suit!!!….we’ll leave it upto you to decide.

And the ride….cant forget the ride…

The Wolverine-poster and synopsis!

The cameras are finally rolling on the much delayed X-Men movie The Wolverine, and now that the action is underway, Fox has announced the official synopsis to clue the fans in on what they can expect!

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior an outsider in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past i n a epic battle that will leave him forever changed!

The Wolverine arc the synopsis refers to come courtesy of Chris Claremont/Frank Miller’s limited 1982 comic series. As far as source material goes, the filmmakers could do alot worse than the fan-favourite story that finds anti-hero Logan drawn deep into the heart of samurai culture. Staring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rila Fukushima, and Svelta Khodchenkova, The Wolverine leaps into theaters on July 26, 2013.

Below is the new poster design, as well as the header banner above, what’d a ya think?
