Iron Man 3 Movie Update

So, with all the buzz around The Avengers at the moment, it seems the rumor mill around this movie has been slim for the time being, but recently we received some news on the film’s casting. It is rumored that Sir Ben Kingsley will be the main villian for the movie. He has been offered the role, and the early buzz is that he will be playing “The Mandarin”, a villian we should have seen in the first film, as it was eluded to with the ” Ten Rings” plotted within the film.

So far Shane Black, the new director of the film, has not mentioned who the main villian will be, but Kingsley has eluted that the character would be “involved in the spread of nanobot technology”, which mixes with the early rumors that the movie would loosly follow the “Extremis” story arc from the comic books, which does involve nano technology.

Either way the involvement of Kingsley would be a great addition to the film, as he would follow the heels of other great actors who portrayed the villains in the franchise, Jeff Bridges and Mickey Rourke. Also noted to return for the third film in the series is Gyweneth Paltro, Scarlett Johansson, and Don Chadle.

Eureka is Back!

Syfy’s Eureka is retuning this upcoming Monday, April 16th, so I thought I would post a retrospective video from the cast and crew on the past 7 years of Eureka! Hope you enjoy the video, and be sure to check out the official Eureka auctions that VIP Fan Auctions will launch soon:

3 Days Left Until Profiles In History Captain America Auction!

With only three days left until bidding begins on the upcoming Profiles In History Captain America people are starting to get there wallets and computers ready. I believe this is going to be a big auction, and possibly assure future auction from Marvel for PIH. There has been alot of press for this auction, that will take place at C2E2 this weekend, Saturday, April 14th in Chicago., and i’m sure the days leading upto the auction will hold alot more news and press.

Acouple days ago Profiles launched a raffle, with the grand prize  being a screen used graded Captain America comic book prop from the movie, you can sign up for the raffle at, but you only have until April 13th to do so! And if you live in the area, I hope you had a chance to stop by the Profiles office to view the items up close and personal.

Now, lets take a look at some of the lots that will be auctioned off this Saturday:

Lot # 177 Hero Resin Captain America Shield (Start Price : 3,000) (Estimates : 3,000 – 5,000)

I’m not really sure what these shields are going to bring, there are quite a few in the auction, some that go along with the corresponding costume from a specific scene, but I estimate the newer/round versions of the shield to go as follows:

Lower end shield: $14,000

Medium, or “decent ” Shield: 24,000

High end Shield: 40,000 (This is if someone goes nuts on bidding!)

Along with the Captain America lots being offered, there are few surprises, like the Iron Man 2 Autopsy suit, as well as several items from Thor! These are a surprise, most likely thrown in by Marvel to entice people into the auction, which will be a bidding frenzy. I’m really looking foreword to seeing what the Thor props will do price wise, but as for the Iron Man suit, i’m pretty positive it will be a high mark for the auction.

Iron Man Mark II Autopsy Suit (Estimate: 60,000-80,000)

This, like I said, will be a high point for the auction, even though it’s not Captain America related, it is the only full Hero Iron Man Suit to be offered at public auction. This piece is quite interesting, it was first promised by Marvel to Propworx for there Iron Man 2 auction last year, but was pulled by Marvel at the last moment to be featured in The Avengers (not confirmed). This suit is made of fiberglass with metal and resin accents, and a metalized finish resembling brushed stainless steel alloy. The suit was designed to have the armor plates removed to expose the suit’s inner circuitry. The removed sections include two leg greaves, as well as a removable main breastplate that reveals the inner cavity and bracing elements. I spoke with the people who made this suit at Legacy Studios, and a extreme amount of detail went into this piece! The boots were even re-used from the first film where Tony Stark take’s his iconic “first flight” in them.

My Estimate: (85,000-96,000)

Julien’s Auctions Hollywood Legends 2012 Review

It’s been about two weeks since Julien’s Auction House had there Hollywood Legends 2012 auction, and this was the first time I had the chance to participate in a Julien’s auction. First off, the auction went smoothly for me, I was actually bidding on my phone due to travel, and had no problems whatsoever getting my bids in.

I ended up winning four lots, and from start to finish: bidding to picking up my items, it was a great experience! I live about 30 miles away from Sotherbys auction house, where Juliens is located, in downtown Beverly Hills, payed my invoice and stopped by to pick my items up, great people, great store, overall a pleasant transaction!

This auction contained over 800 items, from new television to the golden age of movies. What caught my eye were the first 50 lots or so, since they were all from the television series Eureka, on SyFy. I’m a huge fan of the show, and since it was announced late last year that the show was cancelled, NBC Universal decided to auction some of the props and wardrobe, and since NBC has a exclusive contract with Julien’s, that’s where some of the assets ended up, with the rest of the assets to be distributed by VIP Fan Auctions later this year.

To note, some of the other high profile items that were auctioned off were:

Lot:1          EUREKA COLIN FERGUSON SHERIFF UNIFORM                   $1,024.00

Lot:2          EUREKA CAFÉ DIEM NEON SIGN                                                  $1,536.00

Lot3:          ROBOCOP 2 PROMOTIONAL COSTUME                                     $4,160.00

Lot 4:         BATMAN LIFE-SIZE MANNEQUIN                                                $5,000.00

Lot 110:     SUPERMAN IV CHRISTOPHER REEVE COSTUME                  $35,200.00

Lot 128:     STAR TREK: NEMESIS REMAN UNIFORM                                 $1,024.00

Lot 238:     JOHN F. KENNEDY ROCKING CHAIR                                          $86,100.00

Lot 348:     ELIZABETH TAYLOR COSTUME FROM CLEOPATRA             $10,000.00

Lot 823:     CHARLIE CHAPLIN OWNED BAMBOO CANE                            $37,500.00
